Manchester United are interested in Inter Milan star Yann Bisseck
Manchester United have plenty to address in the upcoming transfer window as they prepare to overhaul a squad that has fallen short this season. Defensive frailty has been a recurring issue, with the Red Devils conceding far too often throughout the campaign. With Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelöf both expected to depart in the summer, bolstering the backline will be a top priority. United are in desperate need of dependable reinforcements to restore depth and stability to their defence.
According to CaughtOffside, United have expressed interest in Inter Milan centre-back Yann Bisseck. The 23-year-old has also attracted attention from Premier League rivals Bournemouth and Everton. However, as of now, United have yet to initiate formal contact with either the player or Inter. The report adds that the Italian giants are prepared to demand around €55 million for Bisseck’s services, setting the stage for what could be a competitive race for his signature.
Bisseck’s value continues to rise
Inter Milan’s deep run in the UEFA Champions League, where they’ve reached the semi-finals, has further increased the value of Bisseck, who has become a regular fixture in their defensive setup. Given his growing importance to Simone Inzaghi’s side, Inter are unlikely to lower their €55 million asking price significantly. Whether Manchester United qualify for the Champions League themselves could be a crucial factor in convincing both the player and the club to greenlight a move.
From a performance standpoint, Bisseck has enjoyed a solid campaign in Serie A during the 2024/25 season. In his 23 league appearances, he has helped Inter concede just 16 goals and kept nine clean sheets, averaging a goal conceded every 86 minutes on the pitch. Defensively, he has averaged 1.06 tackles, 0.88 interceptions, and 3.26 clearances per 90 minutes. These numbers underline his reliability, positioning awareness, and ability to contribute consistently to a high-performing backline.

The German centre-back brings an enticing mix of physical dominance and tactical intelligence. Standing at 1.96m, he excels in aerial duels, tackles with assurance, and remains composed under pressure. His comfort on the ball, coupled with a knack for progressive passing, makes him particularly well-suited to a back-three system, an asset in a Ruben Amorim setup. Bisseck’s blend of height, agility, and versatility marks him as one of the more promising defensive talents in Europe.
That said, Manchester United should approach a €55 million deal with caution. While Bisseck certainly fits Amorim’s tactical blueprint, United already have solid depth at centre-back with Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Lisandro Martínez in the fold. With financial constraints to consider and more urgent reinforcements needed in midfield and attack, investing heavily in what could be a rotational defensive option may not represent the best allocation of resources at this time.
