€30m poacher to solve Manchester United’s goalscoring problems

Manchester United are monitoring Bayer Leverkusen star Patrick Schick as a potential forward target during the upcoming summer transfer window. The Red Devils have endured a disastrous season as their attacking department has consistently failed to provide an end product.

United are currently 14th in the Premier League table and had to sack Erik ten Hag to appoint Ruben Amorim. Amorim immediately applied his unique tactical style of play, but failed to improve the results during this season for United.

The squad that the Portuguese boss inherited have failed to adjust to his tactical demands, continuing the club’s miserable season. However, Man United have reached the Europa League semi-final and are fully focused on winning that competition to salvage something.

Manchester United want Bayer Leverkusen star Patrick Schick during the summer transfer window.

The potential Europa League triumph would also help them qualify for the next season’s Champions League, ensuring more financial backing. As things stand, the Red Devils have to sell their surplus players before signing the players who suit Amorim’s style.

However, United should operate smartly this summer and sign available quality players who would cost less in this inflated market. According to Sky reporter Patrick Berger (via X), United are monitoring Leverkusen striker Schick despite preferring a younger forward option.

Both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have failed to provide a consistent end product while playing as the number nine. If the Red Devils manage to increase the transfer budget by sale, they could sign more than one number nine.

Leverkusen want €25-30m for Schick, which is a reasonable price for a proven goalscorer in the peak year right now. The 29-year-old has scored 23 goals and provided one assist from 40 games in all competitions for Leverkusen this season.
