Manchester United surprisingly puts a cheap €40m asking price on young star

Manchester United have surprisingly lowered the asking price of Alejandro Garnacho to facilitate a swift departure during the summer window. The Red Devils have planned a mass exodus under Ruben Amorim to increase the transfer budget before buying new players.

United have endured a disastrous season and have undergone a managerial transition after sacking Erik ten Hag due to failures. Amorim succeeded Ten Hag and implemented his philosophy and style of play into the squad he inherited from the Dutchman.

However, the majority of the current United squad have failed to adjust to the new style of play under Amorim. The Red Devils are currently 14th in the Premier League, an embarrassing position considering the stature of the Manchester club.

Ruben Amorim could use the funds from the sale of Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho to sign the players who fit his requirements.
Ruben Amorim could use the funds from the sale of Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho to sign the players who fit his requirements.

Furthermore, United face financial restrictions due to their frivolous spending in the recent past, which extends beyond Ten Hag’s infamous reign. The Red Devils signed players under huge valuations and provided massive wages, but they failed to meet the immense expectations.

Many of these players exceed the requirements, but United sell those with better market value due to necessity. According to Fichajes, United have surprisingly lowered the asking price of Garnacho to around €40 million to sell him swiftly.

The 20-year-old has struggled with inconsistency and provided limited contribution under Amorim, but possesses immense quality as an attacking winger. Garnacho has made 49 appearances in all competitions for United this season, providing 10 goals and eight assists so far.

Despite his struggles under Amorim, the Argentina international has the age and immense ability to turn the fortunes around. However, United are currently in no position to take a massive risk and have to adhere to Amorim’s requirement.
