Manchester United are interested in the services of the Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite in the summer.
Manchester United need quality signings in the summer to strengthen their overall squad after the shit show in the ongoing season in the Premier League so far. One of the major problems that they have faced is conceding too many goals, due to which they have lost many matches. The defensive line needs a rebuild, and United have to look for options in the transfer market.
The Red Devils might see the departures of Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans. Harry Maguire has also faced enough criticism for his earlier performances, and hence, he might also be shown the door. Lisandro Martinez has struggled with injury issues, and hence, United need more options in the backline as Ruben Amorim plays with a back three.
Manchester United are ready to pay £50 million for Jarrad Branthwaite
Caught Offside has reported that United are interested in the services of the Everton center-back Jarrad Branthwaite in the summer. He has been one of the most dependable defenders in the Premier League in the last few seasons, and United also had their bid rejected for the player in the last year. The report has reiterated that the club want to pay £50 million to secure his services.

Talking about his performance, Branthwaite has conceded 21 goals and kept seven clean sheets in 24 matches in the Premier League 2024/2025 season. That means when he is on the pitch, his team conceded a goal every 95 minutes. Moreover, the defender has made 1.45 tackles and 1.00 interceptions for every 90 minutes he was on the pitch. Branthwaite is also racking up about 7.21 clearances at the same time (as of April 10, 2025).

Liverpool are also interested in the defender, but United might hold the advantage given that Everton would not want to sell their talented player to their Merseyside rivals. Branthwaite is a sensational talent—literally and figuratively. At 22, the Everton center-back possesses physicality with poise. His height supports and backs his aerial dominance with surprising agility.
Brainthwaite is a left-footed gem, calm on the ball, and reads the game like a veteran, making him a standout in the Premier League. His loan at PSV showed he could thrive in possession-based systems, while his grit shines in Everton’s scrappy battles. Manchester United’s interest, with a rumored £50 million bid this summer, feels ambitious yet questionable. He would pair brilliantly with Lisandro Martinez, adding youth and balance to a shaky defense. But €50 million? Everton will laugh that off—they have slapped a £70-80 million tag on him. United’s cash is tight, and with other gaps to fill, I’d say they’re better off negotiating hard or looking elsewhere unless he’s the final piece.
