Manchester United want Wolves forward Matheus Cunha to bolster their perennially struggling attack department during the upcoming summer transfer window. Ruben Amorim succeeded Erik ten Hag at United in the middle of the season after the club showed no improvement.
While Ten Hag helped the Red Devils win the FA Cup last season, it failed to overshadow the disappointing season. The same trend continued as United are currently 13th in the Premier League table, a position far below their stature.
United’s attacks have continued to disappoint and under a new tactical style of play, the need for changes is evident. The Red Devils have already allowed Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho to leave on a loan deal this season.

The trios’ permanent future more likely belongs elsewhere with United hoping to rake in a lot of money from sales. At the same time, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee remain inconsistent and unreliable upfront, creating a dire need for recruitment.
According to Fichajes, United are ready to pay the £62.5 million release clause for Cunha to Wolves during the summer. Cunha has enjoyed a prolific season at Wolves despite the club’s struggle in the Premier League, currently in 17th position.
The 25-year-old has 15 goals and four assists from 29 appearances in all competitions for Wolves this season. Cunha has displayed immense qualities and consistency in the English league to play at the top-most level.
The Brazil international is highly coveted, making his acquisition a tricky thing for the Red Devils despite his release clause. Many clubs are in the transfer market to bolster their attacking department for the next season with Cunha on their list.

United also need to make sure that the 25-year-old fits the profile that Amorim desires at the club. Amirom used Viktor Gyokeres in his former club, Sporting CP, a player with a different style of play compared to Cunha.
