Manchester United legend gives assessment on Ruben Amorim

Ryan Giggs hopes Manchester United hierarchy backs Ruben Amorim

Manchester United are in a turmoil this season under head coach Ruben Amorim. The Red Devils sit 13th in the Premier League and are out of all the domestic competitions. But there is still the hope of going far, and hopefully winning, the Europa League if they want to end the season on a high.

Amorim joined the English club in November last year and the results have not improved under him. But there is progress to see in the style of play and the mentality of the players. The Portuguese manager is regarded as one of the best managers in Europe, so United fans are hoping he can turn the tide around the club as soon as possible.

Man United players will be looking to win the Europa League this season

It’s been 12 years since Manchester United won the Premier League. It is now a distant memory and the club has been on a downfall ever since. Many managers have come and gone, many have tried to make things right at the club and all have failed. That is the bizarre state the Red Devils are in.

Ruben Amorim has impressed United legend Ryan Giggs

Ryan Giggs has been thoroughly impressed with how Ruben Amorim has conducted himself and the work the ex-Sporting manager has done. Amorim has not been given an easy hand at the club and most of the players do not suit his style of play or his system. Yet, the Portuguese manager has somehow managed to grind out results in recent weeks and it is evident that the players are getting used to his system.

As quoted by Manchester Evening News, when asked about the work Amorim has done, Giggs said,

“First of all, on the pitch, it’s not been great. I do like Ruben Amorim, I think he comes across well. I think he’s got a tough job. I think it’s a case of backing him and sticking with him. It might be a long time before we bring success back onto the pitch, but I believe what I’ve seen so far is that he’s got a great chance [of achieving that] if he is backed, so hopefully he will be.”

Ruben Amorim will be hoping to bring the glory days back

The Manchester United legend added,

“He knows what it takes to win leagues, to win games. So, yeah, I think the way that he’s remained positive, he’s called a few people out when it’s needed. So he’s got that charisma, he’s got that personality, but he’s also got that bit of steel as well. And he needs to be backed.”

Will Ruben Amorim be backed by Manchester United?

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is already feeling the pressure after only arriving in November. The 40-year-old has guided United to 13th place in the Premier League and 12 points behind fourth place Chelsea. It can be argued that United are far worse off than when Erik Ten Hag left. The club was just 4 points outside top four that time.

However, it is believed that INEOS will be backing Amorim in the summer. The club are linked to several players in Europe and according to GIVEMESPORT, the Red Devils are in the hunt to sign Tyler Dibling, and also have Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres on their shortlist to bolster their attack.
