Manchester United will be hoping to bolster their attack for next season
Manchester United are not having a good season. The English club is 13th in the Premier League and it has been another dismal campaign. The Red Devils, however, are still in contention to win the Europa League and try and finish this season on a high.
Ruben Amorim has really struggled to bring the best out of many players ever since joining the club in November. The Portuguese manager has been trying hard to implement his system, but it is clear to see that the players have found it tough to get used to it and play in a certain way.

United striker Rasmus Hojlund has really struggled to find the back of the goal as well this season. The Denmark international was signed from Atalanta in 2023 and it is fair to say that the young striker has struggled to live up to the expectations. As per Sofascore, the 22-year-old has scored just eight goals and provided two assists in 39 games this season. That is not what fans expect from a United No.9.
Hugo Ekitike heading to Old Trafford?
Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike is having a season to remember. The France U-21 international has been in scintillating form and it is no surprise that the whole of Europe is taking notice. The talented striker is attracting some deserved attention this season and it looks like he will be on the move in the summer.
According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are closely monitoring Hugo Ekitike and might look to sign the 22-year-old in the summer. The Frankfurt striker is said to be valued at €80million. According to Fichajes, Liverpool are also said to be in the race for the striker and Manchester United might need to be quick if they want to land the French star.

United are said to be in the market for a striker for quite some time now. After reports emerged that Hojlund might be sold in the summer, the Red Devils have been looking to replace the United No.9 with a striker who has the potential to be world -class in the near future.
Will Ekitike be a good fit at Manchester United?
For starters, Ekitike is not having a crisis in front of goal. As per Sofascore, the 22-year-old has scored 19 goals and provided eight assists in 38 games this season in all competitions. That are some impressive numbers and it has helped Frankfurt climb to fourth pace in the Bundesliga.
The French striker is known for his explosive pace, and his ability to finish with both feet. Ekitike is very good at passing and tends to drop back into the No.10 position to create space for other players. This trait is quite similar to what Joshua Zirkzee does under Amorim. However, the Frankfurt star is much quicker and prefers to dribble past defenders. The only criticism is he is not comfortable if the game is physical.
