The youngster enjoyed a successful first campaign last season and helped the Red Devils win the FA Cup by scoring in the final. It was a season to remember as the 19-year-old also earned his first England call-up and was part of the squad for the Euro 2024.

Kobbie Mainoo to stay at Old Trafford or go?

Kobbie Mainoo has had a stop-start second season. The midfielder has been injured quite often and the change in manager mid-season has certainly not helped his cause. Ruben Amorim has often kept the 19-year-old on the bench this season ever since the ex-Sporting manager joined the club.

As per Sofascore, Mainoo has appeared in just 18 matches in the Premier League and there is a worry that Amorim does not know how to get the best out of the youngster in his system. According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Kobbie Mainoo is on the verge of leaving his boyhood club and head for pastures new in the summer.

Now to add fuel to the fire, Manchester United correspondent for The Athletic, Laurie Whitwell has said on Stretford Paddock,

“Ultimately Ruben Amorim’s views would come into this, how much is he going to be playing, does he fit what he wants from a player? I think he’s changed or changing his mind around Garnacho, speaking positively about him recently, but hasn’t gotten that opportunity with Mainoo because he’s been injured.”
