Manchester United winger Antony has been in scintillating form since leaving M16
Manchester United winger Antony was sent on loan to Real Betis in the January transfer window. The 25-year-old failed to make a mark at Old Trafford during his time at the club and was allowed to leave the club on loan to the Spanish side, but that include a buy option.
Since making the switch to Real Betis, the Brazil international has been in sensational form. As per Sofascore, the winger has managed to score four goals and assist four goals in just 11 appearances for the club. The upward turn in Antony’s form has made Betis real contenders for the Champions League spot next season.

Antony arrived to Manchester United in the summer of 2022 from Ajax. The 25-year-old had been a shining light in Amsterdam and was highly rated when he was making his move to Manchester. It was Erik Ten Hag who got the Brazil international to the club, but the Dutch manager failed to bring out the best out of Antony during his tenure at Old Trafford.
Real Betis aiming to keep Antony
Since making his switch to Real Betis, Antony has looked like a completely different player. The ex-Ajax winger has been playing with more confidence and has been enjoying his game. It is safe to say that the weight and the pressure of the Manchester United badge was a lot to handle for the winger and it has certainly helped him to be away from the spotlight.
ABC de Sevilla are reporting that Betis want to extend Antony’s loan for one more year and keep him at the club till the summer of 2026. It is also being reported that the Spanish side are willing to cover a higher percentage of the 25-year-old’s wages as well.

This just shows how much the La Liga side value Antony and the impact the winger has made in his short time at the club. Manchester United will have a decision to make and need to consider their options carefully regarding the situation.
A player reborn in Spain
Antony has just proved that it is not easy to shine at Manchester United. The talented winger constantly had the spotlight on him ever since he moved to Old Trafford from Ajax for £81million. The Brazil international was constantly in the headlines and it was a tough spell at M16 for the winger.
However, the winger has rejuvenated his career in spectacular fashion and is one of the reasons why Real Betis is gunning for the Champions League spots in La Liga. It looks like the ex-Ajax player is playing without a chip on his shoulder.
