Manchester United pondering move for €70m full-back who can replace Luke Shaw

Manchester United have been looking to amplify their options in the defensive side of things as Ruben Amorim looks to bring in a new left-back at Old Trafford in the upcoming 2025 transfer intervals, and they are looking at a potential move for 27-year-old Italian international Federico Dimarco, per Italian outlet Inter Live.

Manchester Reds have been short of options in the left-back role with Luke Shaw continually struggling with injuries while Malacia has been unable to put up pre-injury performances at Old Trafford.

Dimarco will fit in seamlessly under Amorim

United are playing with wing backs under new head coach Ruben Amorim, and aiding to his playing style, they are looking to sign possibly one of the best left-sided wing backs in Dimarco. 

The Italian is having an excellent season at San Siro, scoring three goals accompanied by a further five assists in 18 appearances. And his progress hasn’t gone unnoticed as the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid join the race for his signature alongside United.

The report goes on to claim that Madrid is pondering a possible €70m bid for the 27-year-old; however, it is unclear whether the Italian giants would accept the bid or not.

For Man United, it is to be seen if they are ready to make hefty financial commitments for the fullback or if they would pivot into signing someone like Alphonso Davies, who is available on a free transfer.
