Manchester United stars Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo return to Carrington for the Community Shield match
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United players Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo have returned to Carrington on Monday after their holidays. Both players were part of England’s national team in Euro 2024, and they have started training for the Community Shield match against Manchester City this weekend.
The English internationals featured to different extents for Gareth Southgate’s England national team. The English gaffer picked his squad for the campaign after many filtering processes, and the United stars made it into the squad and played a role in the team’s journey to the Euro final.
Shaw and Mainoo both started in the final of the European Championship as England suffered a 2-1 defeat against Spain. Despite not winning the title, the English stars have thrived in the championship with their solid performances for the national side, and the United fans anticipate them to continue the form for the Red Devils.
Shaw is all set to make a comeback for the Red Devils through the new campaign. The English defender missed a major part of the last campaign due to a muscle injury. The 29-year-old full-back has only managed to play 19 games for the club in the last season. Shaw has regained his form and fitness with the national team and he would be a key player in the backline for Erik ten Hag in the upcoming season.
Mainoo has impressed the United fans with his performances for the club in the last season. He scored five goals and provided three assists in 35 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils under Ten Hag. The teenager also stunned the United fans with his banger in the FA Cup final against Machester City in May.
Time for the major leagues to begin!

Manchester United will kick start their new campaign with the Community Shield match against Manchester City on Saturday at Wembley. The club has successfully completed their pre-season tour in the USA by winning three out of five pre-season games.
