Injury update: Manchester United learn how long €62m star will be out for with pre-season injury

Man United reveal how long Leny Yoro will remain side-lined

As confirmed by The Standard, Man United defender Leny Yoro is set to be on the sidelines for around three months with a foot injury.

The 18-year-old came off during United’s pre-season defeat to Arsenal on Sunday. He was seen walking around with a crutch a while ago.

Yoro moved to United from French side Lille just two weeks ago in a €62m move.

More injury concerns follow for the Red Devils as Rasmus Højlund, who sustained a hamstring injury early in the Arsenal game, is out for six weeks.

Additionally, Marcus Rashford hobbled off in United’s recently-concluded friendly against Real Betis, in which he scored a 13th-minute pen.

United kick off their season in two and a half weeks against Fulham on August 16.

New season, same old problems

Erik ten Hag simply cannot catch a break. Even before he could dust off the injury woes of last season, new blows have arrived even before the next one begins.

They’re all unfortunate, of course, and an increasing amount of muscle injuries will remain a growing concern as the season progresses owing to the amount of matches these players are playing. Add to that the fact the United’s medical department has not had a good record of diagnosing issues and then rehabilitating players properly, and one only hopes that the new sporting regime of the club looks into this in due time for their own as well as their players’ sake.
