Alisson puts himself in Man United’s boots, reveals what he would tell their players for Liverpool clash

Alisson expects Manchester United backlash ahead of their clash against Liverpool

Following their crash out of the Champions League, Ten Hag and his men will now be heading over to Anfield to take on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. Interestingly enough, the Reds’ goalkeeper Alisson Becker had something to say ahead of the match.

The Liverpool goalkeeper revealed that if he was in the boots of Manchester United’s players, the only fitting way to return would be ‘on fire’. Becker almost made it sound like he was trying to motivate the Red Devils.

Ten Hag’s team has constantly been losing the mental battle of the game. Hopefully, Becker’s words can go on to motivate the team as they look to get back on track.

Alisson then went on to shed some light on his own experience of going up against Liverpool during his time at Roma. Let’s have a look at what the Brazilian national had to say ahead of the game. (h/t The Guardian)

“As a football player, as an elite athlete, you are going to try to use it [the 7-0] to motivate yourself. I don’t know much about the Man United players but I’m sure they are coming here to try and get the result from us.”

Becker used Manchester United’s worst defeat in history as fuel for the players. Hopefully, the players themselves can use it as fuel on Sunday

If the Red Devils end up taking all three points against Liverpool they will catch up with the Spurs. Tottenham are currently sitting at number five with 33 points, a win against Liverpool will bring the team closer to their goal of a top four finish.
