Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag bemoans poor refereeing mistakes that led to his touchline ban
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag complained about refereeing mistakes that went against his team during this season. The 53-year-old would serve a touchline ban in the Premier League game against Everton on Saturday.
Ten Hag picked up three yellow cards in the Premier League this season in three separate matches. The Dutchman faced disciplinary cautions against Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and during the last game against Luton Town.
The United boss reacted aggressively during the thrown-in decision that went against his team in the 1-0 victory against Luton. The Red Devils won the hard-fought away game before the November international break with a scrubby goal from Victor Lindelof.

Ten Hag told the reporters at his press conference (h/t Manchester Evening News) that referees made many mistakes against them. He said:
“Let’s say this, it is a ban. You are not always agreeing with the referee, many decisions were against us. Still I have to accept it.”
United would rely on Ten Hag’s assistants to make up for the Dutchman’s absence in the touchline at Goodison Park. The Red Devils have won four out of their last five Premier League games and need to continue their run.
United are currently lying in the sixth position, five points behind the fourth-place Spurs. The Manchester giant needs to achieve the top four spot to qualify for next year’s Champions League.
Ten Hag has deployed a new tactical approach in the two games before the November international break. The rigid 4-2-4 showed promising signs in the away loss against FC Copenhagen and the home win against Luton.
Nevertheless, Everton would be a tougher opponent, especially after receiving a 10-point penalty during the international break. The Merseyside club are currently in the relegation zone with only four points to their name.
