Brighton & Hove Albion CEO Paul Barber acknowledged the potential future sale of Manchester United target Evan Ferguson.
Brighton & Hove Albion chief executive Paul Barber has revealed the possibility of selling Manchester United target Evan Ferguson. The 19-year-old signed a new contract with Brighton until 2029 just before November international break.
Ferguson successfully broke into the senior team last season and continued to develop into one of the most promising forwards. His performances earned him an international call-up to the Republic of Ireland’s senior team in 2020.
The Ireland international is an all-round forward with the ability and composure to score goals consistently. The 19-year-old is capable of scoring from both of his feet and he is an aerial threat as well.

Ferguson stands at 6 feet 2 inches tall with a physical and athletic build to challenge any defenders in duels. The Irishman has shown the ability to link up well and make good off-the-ball movements to exploit spaces.
Brighton’s attacking and fluid style of play has helped the youngster hone his talent and build upon his strengths. Many top clubs, including the Red Devils, highly covet Ferguson due to his rapidly rising reputation.
Speaking to Soccerex TV (h/t Manchester Evening News), Barber refused to rule out Ferguson’s sale to a bigger club. He said:
“At some point in the future, Evan’s going to be playing at an even higher level if his trajectory continues as it is. We want to make sure that we do everything we can to prepare him for that. Not just on the field, but off the field as well, give him as much support as we can”
United’s frontline has struggled to produce goals in the Premier League this season. Marcus Rashford is the only attacker to score a goal for the Red Devils in the Premier League so far.
United signed Rasmus Hojlund from Seria A club Atalanta during the summer to bolster their attacking lineup. The 20-year-old has given optimistic performances for the team but he has struggled to be a consistent provider of goals.

On the other hand, Ferguson has made 14 appearances for Brighton and contributed five goals in all competitions. The 19-year-old can be an impressive addition to the United’s senior team and help relieve some pressure off Hojlund. However, the Irishman is content at Brighton where he is getting more starts than he would at any top club.
