Christian Eriksen delighted with debut Manchester United season
Manchester United star Christian Eriksen expressed delight while reflecting upon his debut season in the 2022/23 term at the Old Trafford side.
The Red Devils signed the Denmark international as a free agent last summer. Prior to that, the 31-year-old had a short spell at Brentford, where he put in some impressive displays.
Speaking to club media via Manchester Evening News, Eriksen is satisfied while looking back upon his first year at United. The midfielder is happy to have joined the Red Devils.

“I’m very happy, very glad [with my decision] looking back on everything that happened. Of course, I was unfortunate with an injury in the middle of it but we can forget there was a World Cup in the middle of the season, which broke it up. I’m pleased with my first season.”
Having made his way through the youth ranks at Ajax Amsterdam, the Danish national established himself as a superstar at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
After several successful seasons at Spurs, the 31-year-old signed for Inter Milan in January 2020. He ended up winning the Scudetto at the Nerazzurri in the 2020/21 campaign.
Unfortunately, Eriksen spent a lot of time on the sidelines after collapsing due to a cardiac arrest during the Euro 2020 match against Finland.

Thankfully, the midfielder has managed to restart his career. At United, the Danish national became a key player for Erik ten hag instantly. The gaffer tried the 31-year-old in multiple positions before partnering him with Casemiro in the double pivot.
Eriksen and the Brazil international formed a solid partnership in the engine room for the Red Devils last season. Sadly, the Danish national’s campaign was hampered a bit after picking up an injury in January. He ended up making 44 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing 10 assists.

While the veteran midfielder was decent, his lack of fitness was a bit frustrating. Towards the end of the 2022/23 term, the 31-year-old’s form dipped a bit. Hopefully, the former Tottenham star will be able to show more consistency in the upcoming campaign.
