Noussair Mazraoui wants to leave Bayern Munich amidst Manchester United interest

Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui wants to leave the Bundesliga giants this summer amidst interest from Manchester United, according to Kicker (h/t Express).

The Morocco international has fallen out of favour under Thomas Tuchel. As things stand, the right-back has no intention of being a backup at the Bavarians in the upcoming campaign.

To that end, the 25-year-old is considering parting ways with the Allianz Arena side. As per Spanish outlet Fichajes.net, the Red Devils are one of the teams who have him on their radar.

Mazraoui made his way through the youth ranks at Ajax Amsterdam. He became a key player for the Eredivisie outfit under Erik ten Hag.

Subsequently, last summer, as the Dutch manager left De Godenzonen, so did the Moroccan on a free transfer. Bayern acquired his services, but the defender has been unable to cement his place in their starting lineup.

Mazraoui has started in just 11 Bundesliga matches in the current campaign. The Bavarians have Benjamin Pavard and Josip Stanisic at their disposal as well. The French World Cup winner has been the first-choice at right-back at the German outfit for some time now.

United’s situation on the right-hand side of the defence is encouraging. Diogo Dalot, who recently signed a new contract, started the season brightly under Ten Hag and started in the majority of games before the 2022 World Cup.

However, in recent months, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has forced his way into the gaffer’s plans with some impressive displays. The former Crystal Palace star looks to have pipped the Portugal international in the pecking order.

At the moment, we have two good right-backs at our disposal. However, if any of them decides to leave for guaranteed minutes elsewhere, then Ten Hag reuniting with Mazraoui would not be such a bad idea.
