Manchester United ‘preparing’ move for AS Monaco full-back Vanderson
The Red Devils are ‘preparing’ a move for the Brazil national next summer. As things stand, the Old Trafford side are in touch with the full-back’s representatives regarding a switch from the French side.
However, the Red and Whites will not let him go for cheap, and it makes sense given the player’s ceiling and age. The Monegasque club is looking for £50 million to part ways with the 21-year-old.
Monaco signed Vanderson from Gremio in the winter window of 2022. Since then, the defender has been a pivotal member of the Ligue 1 outfit’s starting lineup.
In the current campaign, he has once again been influential in the Red and Whites’ plans. The right-back has made 39 appearances in all competitions for them, scoring one goal and providing five assists.
Apart from playing in defence, the Brazilian has been deployed further up front on occasions. The 21-year-old has also showcased his attacking prowess during his time at the French side.
As for United, Diogo Dalot recently signed a new contract at the club until June 2028. The Portugal international has been a key player for Erik ten Hag in the 2022/23 season. But since the 2022 World Cup, there has been a dip in the 23-year-old’s form.
However, in recent months, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has found himself back in the team. The English national has put in some decent performances and has pipped the former FC Porto star in the pecking order.
