Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has shared his high hopes for Alejandro Garnacho, with the Argentine touted to be a future star.

The 18-year-old has broken into the first-team setup this season and has put in some clutch performances off the bench for the Red Devils. As a result, the Brazil international has been impressed by the forward.

Speaking to El Destape (h/t Manchester Evening News), Casemiro has hailed Garnacho as a quality individual. To that end, the 31-year-old expects the youngster to be a key player for the Old Trafford side for years to come.

”We know that he is a great player, but he’s also great for the next 10 years at Manchester United, we’re sure he’s going to be a great player here and he’s becoming very important to us.”

The Argentine national made his way to United in the summer of 2020 from Atletico Madrid. Over the years, the forward has mostly featured in the Red Devils’ youth teams and has thrived.

This season, Erik ten Hag has given the 18-year-old a chance to prove himself at the highest level and the winger has not disappointed, creating a place for himself in the gaffer’s plans.

Initially, the Dutch manager did not seem to trust Garnacho. The Argentine was hardly given any minutes on the pitch at the start of the campaign.

However, when the youngster has gotten on the pitch, he has shone. The forward brings energy and directness to the team whenever he features. As a result, the 18-year-old is often one of the first names to come off the bench when needed.

He has enjoyed regular minutes this season, finding the back of the net five times and providing five assists in 34 appearances in all competitions. While Garnacho is still young, there is still a long way for him to go. Casemiro is one of the experienced heads in the squad.
