Antony Martial to miss FA Cup final for Manchester United due to hamstring injury
Manchester United forward Antony Martial is set to miss the FA Cup final against Manchester City after suffering a hamstring injury.
The France international picked up the knock in our final Premier League fixture of the season against Fulham. Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes got on the scoresheet to complete a comeback victory for the Red Devils.
In the 2-1 win, the 27-year-old came on as a substitute at around the 70th-minute mark. Unfortunately, now, the striker will be unavailable for the crunch match at Wembley Stadium on 3 June.
Martial made his way to United in the summer of 2015 from AS Monaco. The French national was expected to do big things and was one of the most promising prospects at the time.
However, the forward has failed to show consistency at the Old Trafford side over the years. In the previous campaign, the 27-year-old had lost his place in the team and spent half of the campaign on loan at Sevilla.
Erik ten Hag managed to get the best out of Martial during pre-season. However, the striker has been in and out of the side due to multiple fitness issues since the Dutch manager’s arrival.

The French national has been unable to complete the full 90 minutes in any of the matches he has played in the current campaign. Up until now, in the 2022/23 season, the forward has missed 32 matches in all competitions for us.
With the 27-year-old on the sidelines a lot, Ten Hag has had to rely heavily on Wout Weghorrst over the last few months. The Burnley loanee has worked hard, but he leaves a lot to be desired in front of goal.

United have not been able to count on Martial this season. After the Carabao Cup win, the FA Cup is another opportunity for the Dutch manager to finish the campaign on a high. But the absence of Martial is evidently a big blow for us.
