Manchester United enter the race for Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch

Ryan Gravenberch, who plays for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, is attracting interest from Manchester United ahead of next summer, according to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News).

Erik ten Hag is keen on adding reinforcements to the middle of the park in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, the gaffer is eyeing a midfielder with good ball-playing abilities.

The Red Devils have been linked with the likes of Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham and Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong. However, talks surrounding either of them moving to the Old Trafford side have subsided.

As a result, alternatives are being eyed by the Manchester-based club, one of them being the Bavarians’ 20-year-old. The Holland international could force a move away from the German outfit in the coming months.

Gravenberch signed for Bayern in the summer of 2022 from Ajax. However, the youngster has found game time hard to come by at the Allianz Arena side.

The Holland international previously thrived at the Amsterdam-based club and was one of the most promising stars at the Eredivisie outfit. Ten Hag was the one who the 20-year-old developed under at De Godenzonen.

At United, the gaffer has been unable to rely on Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek to come on and do a good job consistently. The trio have been underwhelming in their own separate ways during their time in Manchester.

Marcel Sabitzer has done well as the January signing. But the 29-year-old joined the Red Devils on a temporary move from Bayern and is set to return to the Bundesliga giants at the end of the season.

Gravenberch looks like a decent option to pursue. However, with Casemiro and Christian Eriksen cementing their place in Ten Hag’s plans, will the Holland international get regular opportunities at the Old Trafford side if he joins us? Only time will tell.
