Gary Neville blasts the Glazers after Manchester United loss to West Ham United
Manchester United icon Gary Neville has blasted the Glazers for the uncertainty around the ownership of the club after the loss to West Ham United.
The Hammers welcomed the Red Devils on Sunday (7 May) in the Premier League. A goal in the 27th minute from Said Benrahma was enough for the London Stadium side to get the three points with a 1-0 win.
Taking to Twitter after the defeat, Neville, who spent his entire career at the Old Trafford side, was disappointed with the Manchester-based club’s performance. But the ex-captain took shots at the Glazers in the process as well.
“The real disgrace are the Glazers. Are they waiting for the last game at OT to pass??? It would be typical of them. Weak and shirking accountability and responsibility to the end!
“Members of staff on and off the pitch are in an uncertain position waiting for new owners! Let alone recruitment and what budget their is going to be! This should have been done! Classless to the end!”
Earlier in the season, the American owners had revealed that they were open to selling Man United. However, several months have passed since then, with multiple bids from various parties, including Sheikh Jassim and Jim Ratcliffe.
However, it does not look like the Glazers are serious about the process. They have let the negotiations drag on. Therefore, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the Red Devils.
Erik ten Hag has taken big leaps since his arrival in the Old Trafford side’s dugout. The Dutch manager has exceeded expectations in his first season in charge of the Manchester-based club.
Man United broke their six-year trophy drought by lifting the Carabao Cup. We have also made it to the finals of the FA Cup, where arch-rivals Manchester City will be our opponents.
However, getting into the top four is under threat after the back-to-back 1-0 losses to Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham. Liverpool are now just one point behind us in fifth place, which is too close for comfort.

Failing to attain a Champions League spot will do away with the positives of this season. The Glazers did not back Ten Hag in the January window. Their apparent mismanagement over the years has led to our club’s decline. Hopefully, they will decide to sell their full shares in the coming months and leave for good.
