Manchester United ‘favour’ Randal Kolo Muani transfer over Victor Osimhen
Manchester United ‘favour’ a move for Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani over Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, according to Sky Sport Germany (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are looking to bolster their front line with a new number nine in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, the Old Trafford side are eyeing the France international and are also interested in the Nigeria international.
Erik ten Hag also likes Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos and Ajax youngster Mohammed Kudus. But the Manchester-based club are prepared to go toe-to-toe with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich for Oliver Glasner’s team’s forward.
Osimhen has been in fine form this season. The 24-year-old has led the Naples-based club’s line admirably and has shown his prolificity. With the Nigerian as their talisman, the Partenopei are set to lift their first Serie A title in over three decades.
However, Kolo Munai has also caught a lot of people’s attention with his displays. The French national signed for Frankfurt on a free transfer last summer.
The 24-year-old has surprised many with the numbers he has been able to post for Die Adler. In the current campaign, the centre-forward has found the back of the net 20 times and has provided 14 assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.
At the moment, Ten Hag has Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst as the only natural number nines in the squad. The Holland international has had a pivotal role to play due to the former AS Monaco star’s fitness issues.
The 30-year-old joined United on loan in January from Burnley. While he has worked hard, the striker has been unable to prove himself at the Old Trafford side.
