AC Milan and Juventus eyeing Manchester United striker Anthony Martial
Serie A giants AC Milan and Juventus are eyeing a move for Manchester United striker Anthony Martial, according to Calciomercato (h/t Manchester Evening News).
In the current campaign, the French national has been injury prone and has been unavailable for the most part. As a result, the Red Devils are looking to bolster the forward line with a quality number nine.
While the former AS Monaco star has done well wherever he has been called upon, the 27-year-old could be moved on in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, the two Italian outfits are monitoring his situation at the Old Trafford side.
Martial signed for United in the summer of 2015 after breaking onto the scene in Ligue 1. Subsequently, the striker put in some encouraging performances at the Manchester-based club initially.
However, over the last few years, the French national has been underwhelming for the Red Devils. Last season, he had lost his place in the Red Devils’ team and went to Sevilla on loan in January 2022. But even in Spain, the 27-year-old was unable to find his feet.
With Erik ten Hag’s arrival in the Old Trafford side’s dugout, Martial looked to be back to his best. But since the start of the campaign, injuries have hampered the striker’s game time.
In the previous transfer window, we signed Wout Weghorst on a temporary move from Burnley to add cover in the number nine position. The Holland international has played a pivotal role over the last few months. However, the 30-year-old leaves a lot to be desired up front.
Milan’s striking options include the likes of Olivier Giroud and Alatan Ibrahimovic. The two are not getting any younger. On the other hand, Juventus have Dusan Vlahovic at their disposal.

Martial has not completed 90 minutes in any game for United this season. The French national’s fitness issues have been frustrating. If we cannot count on him consistently, it would seemingly be better to part ways with the 27-year-old in the coming months.
