Inter Milan shot-stopper Andre Onana being eyed by Manchester United

Manchester United are ‘keeping an eye’ on Inter Milan shot-stopper Andre Onana ahead of the upcoming transfer window, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The Cameroonian has been in fine form in the current campaign and has attracted interest from the Premier League. Apart from the Red Devils, English top-flight rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur also have the goalkeeper on their radar.

Graham Potter’s team have Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy at their disposal. However, the two have been underwhelming over the last few months. On the other hand, Hugo Lloris and Fraser Forster are both approaching the end of their careers.

Onana made his way to Inter in the summer of 2022 as a free agent. The Nerazzurri have no intention of parting ways with their shot-stopper. The 26-year-old is in no hurry to leave the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium side either.

However, a ‘mind-boggling’ could compel the Serie A giants and the goalkeeper to change their minds. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the Cameroonian.

At the moment, David de Gea is the number one at United. However, his current contract is set to expire soon. As a result, the Red Devils are expected to sign a new first-choice shot-stopper in the coming future.

The 32-year-old has been in fine form since last season. However, the Spaniard is backed up by Tom Heaton and Jack Butland in the squad.

Onana made a name for himself at Ajax and developed under Erik ten Hag. The 26-year-old is familiar with the Dutch manager’s ideas and style of play.
