Antony picks Manchester United debut vs Arsenal as favourite Premier League game

Manchester United star Antony has chosen his debut against Arsenal as his favourite game in the Premier League at the Old Trafford side so far.

The Brazil international was signed towards the end of the previous summer transfer window. Erik ten Hag immediately put the winger in the starting lineup as the Gunners came to Manchester.

In the fixture, the 23-year-old got off to a dream start in his Red Devils’ career, finding the back of the net for the opener in the 35th minute. The forward was then substituted just for the hour mark.

Mikel Arteta’s team equalised in the 60th minute. However, Marcus Rashford’s brace got us over the line against the North London side as we won 3-1.

Since then, Antony has had a few other moments at United. The Brazilian has made a habit of cutting inside on his left foot and scoring goals. In 30 appearances in all competitions this season, he has found the back of the net seven times and has provided one assist.

Speaking to GQ Turkey (h/t Manchester Evening News), the 23-year-old picked his debut as the perfect moment so far in his short time with the Red Devils.

“I think my first. It was like living a dream. Making my Manchester debut, at Old Trafford, in a derby against Arsenal, and still scoring a goal? It is not possible to be more perfect.”

Antony became the second-most expensive signing for the Old Trafford side when he switched from Ajax to the Manchester-based club. While there have been some great moments, the forward has been a bit inconsistent.

Over the course of the campaign, the Brazilian has had a mixed spell at United. At times, the 23-year-old has been somewhat frustrating and has hardly been able to make an impact.

However, there is still a long way for Antony to go in his career. Up until now, the Brazilian has shown a lot of promise. Hopefully, the 23-year-old and fans alike are not distracted by his price tag.
