Manchester United have 20 per cent sell-on clause in Andreas Pereira deal amidst Chelsea and PSG interest

Manchester United could profit from the sale of Fulham star Andreas Pereira if Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) sign him, according to ESPN (h/t Express).

The Red Devils parted ways with the Brazil international in the summer of 2022, with the Cottagers signing him for £10 million, including add-ons. But the Old Trafford side included a 20 per cent sell-on clause in the deal.

Since then, the midfielder has gone on to thrive at the Craven Cottage side. Now, the Blues and the Parisians are interested in acquiring his services.

Therefore, if the West London club decide to cash in on the 27-year-old in the coming months, the Manchester-based club would be in for a little windfall.

At the moment, Graham Potter’s team have an abundance of quality in the attacking positions. PSG are also stacked in the middle of the park, with the likes of Carlos Soler, Fabian Ruiz and Renato Sanches being signed last summer.

Pereira signed for United in the summer of 2012 from PSV Eindhoven. Subsequently, he featured a lot in the youth teams before making his way to the senior squad.

However, the Brazilian was unable to cement his place in the Red Devils’ first team. The playmaker spent time out on loan at several clubs when he was on the Old Trafford side’s books.

Finally, the 27-year-old ended a 10-year stint at the Manchester-based club and joined Marco Silva’s team. In the current campaign, he has made 32 appearances in all competitions for Fulham, scoring three goals and providing six assists.

With Bruno Fernandes in United’s ranks, it was wise for Pereira to part ways with us. The Brazilian was a constant threat as the Red Devils took on the Cottagers in the FA Cup quarter-finals. We eventually won 3-1, but the midfielder made an impression.

The 27-year-old has caught a lot of people’s attention. However, it remains to be seen whether he will leave Fulham at the end of the season.
