Manchester United ‘willing’ to sell Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof next summer
Manchester United are ‘willing’ to part ways with their two centre-backs, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof, in the upcoming transfer window, according to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The England international and Swedish skipper have lost their place in the starting lineup in the current campaign. Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane have been Erik ten Hag’s preferred duo in the backline.
Next summer, the Dutch manager is set to have a ‘clearout’ of his defenders. Thus, it remains to be seen where our captain and the former SL Benfica star’s futures lie.

Lindelof signed for the Red Devils in the summer of 2017. In his debut campaign, the Sweden international mostly played as a backup. However, the 28-year-old soon established himself in the Old Trafford side’s first team.
But, this season, the defender has found game time hard to come by since the arrival of Erik ten Hag. The centre-back has started in just five Premier League games for the Dutch manager at the Manchester-based club.
As for Maguire, he came to United in the summer of 2019 from Leicester City. In just a few months, the English national was handed the captain’s armband at the Old Trafford side.
Over the years, the 30-year-old had been ever-present in the lineup. However, under the former Ajax head coach, the centre-back has been relegated to the bench.
Martinez and Varane have formed a steady partnership in the Red Devils’ defence this season. The Argentina international has made an evident difference at the back with his tenacity and quality on the ball.
