Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer ‘feels at home’ on loan at Manchester United

Marcel Sabitzer, who is on loan at Manchester United from Bayern Munich, ‘feels at home’ at the Old Trafford side, according to German outlet Bild (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The Austria international could be sold by the Bavarians in the upcoming transfer window as they plan for next season. Next summer, Erik ten Hag wants to add a new midfielder to his ranks in Manchester. The Red Devils have been linked with permanently signing the 28-year-old.

Sabitzer has been a player the Old Trafford side have had an eye on for quite some time. On deadline day in January, the club opted to sign him on a temporary move after the injury to Christina Eriksen.

The Austrian’s current contract with the Bundesliga giants runs until the summer of 2025. However, the German outfit could part ways with the 28-year-old for £18 million in the coming months.

After making his name at Red Bull Salzburg, the midfielder established himself as a quality player at RB Leipzig. Subsequently, Bayern came knocking in the summer of 2021.

However, Sabitzer has found life difficult with the Bavarians. After playing a bit-part role in his debut campaign at the Bundesliga giants, the midfielder continued to be a backup this season as well.

As a result, the Austrian seemingly opted for a move to United. The 28-year-old has been pivotal in recent weeks due to an evident lack of depth in the Red Devils’ engine room/

Casemiro and Eriksen have been Ten Hag’s preferred duo in the middle of the park. However, with the Denmark international’s injury, Fred and Scott Mctominay have filled in. However, the duo have been inconsistent over the years.

Sabitzer has done well in the few appearances he has made for the Old Trafford side so far. However, it remains to be seen whether the Manchester-based club will opt to sign the Austrian on a permanent basis.
