Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus added to ‘list of targets’ by Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has added Ajax Amsterdam star Mohammed Kudus to the ‘list of targets’ ahead of the upcoming transfer window, according to talkSPORT (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are eyeing the Ghana international’s signature. It remains to be seen whether the Old Trafford side will pursue the 22-year-old’s signature in the coming months.
Kudus joined De Godenzonen in the summer of 2020. Back then, Ten Hag was in charge of the Eredivisie outfit. During the forward’s time under the Dutch manager, he was a bit-part player, mostly coming off the bench.
However, in the current campaign, the Ghana international has stepped up to the plate for the Amsterdam-based club and has taken the mantle.
With Antony having joined United, the 22-year-old has been the Johan Cruyff Arena side’s talisman. He has made 34 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring 17 goals and providing four assists.
Kudus is a versatile player. In the 2022/23 season, he has mostly played as a centre forward. However, the Ghanaian is also capable of playing on the right wing as well as in the number 10 position.
The 22-year-old also caught a lot of people’s attention with his performances in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. But the Black Stars were unable to make it out of the group stages of the prestigious competition.
At the moment, the Old Trafford side evidently lacks depth in the attack. Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst are the only two natural strikers in the squad. But the France international has been unavailable for most of the campaign due to fitness issues.

Kudus is a talented forward who Ten Hag evidently knows a lot about. The signings of Antony and Lisandro Martinez from Ajajx were relatively decent. Will the Ghanaian be another addition the Dutch manager will make from his former club in Manchester? Only time will tell.
