The Red Devils are still looking to acquire the midfielder’s services despite him signing a new contract. Recently, the Ecuador international put pen to paper on a new deal with the Seagulls until the summer of 2027.

By extending the 21-year-old’s stay in East Sussex, the Seagulls have protected his value. They will likely demand at least £70 million to part ways with the youngster.

Apart from the Old Trafford side, Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea are also keen on signing Caicedo in the coming months. Several top clubs in the English top flight are hoping to strengthen the middle of the park at the end of the season.

In the previous transfer window, Arsenal made bids for the Ecuador international. However, the Gunners failed in their pursuit. Mikel Arteta’s team have now moved on from the midfielder.

The 21-year-old made his way to Brighton in January 2021. However, in the second half of the previous campaign, he broke into the East Sussex side’s first team and has continued to put in impressive performances.

Caicedo has not lost his influence in Roberto De Zerbi’s team this season. The Ecuadorian has made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Seagulls in all competitions.

United signed Casemiro and Christian Eriksen last summer. The former Real Madrid star’s influence has evidently made a big difference in the Red Devils’ performances under Erik ten Hag.

However, we seem to lack quality in depth to come in for the Brazilian. Caicedo is someone whose age and potential make him an exciting prospect. But will the Old Trafford side be able to get a hold of his signature? it remains to be seen.
