Manchester United star Casemiro is an injury ‘doubt’ and could miss the Red Devils’ Europa League clash against Real Betis, according to ESPN (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The Brazil international started in the 7-0 thrashing of the Old Trafford side at the hands of Liverpool in the Premier League. Unfortunately, apart from a damaging scoreline, the 31-year-old also picked up a knock.

The midfielder is set to be assessed to determine if he can play ahead of the La Liga outfit’s visit to Manchester on Thursday (9 March) for the first leg of the round of 16 tie.

Casemiro has been one of our best players this season. However, in the loss to Jurgen Klopp’s team, he struggled to perform well, especially in the second half.

The opening 45 minutes saw both teams creating chances. But it was the Merseysiders who took the lead just before the break. Unfortunately, thereafter, it was a game to forget for United. In the 76th minute, the Brazilian was substituted for Marcel Sabitzer,

In the summer of 2022, the Red Devils signed the 31-year-old from Real Madrid. The midfielder has brought much-needed experience to the Old Trafford side’s ranks, having won five Champions League titles.

United could have done better in the group stages of the UEL. We finished second behind Real Sociedad. As a result, the Red Devils had to face Barcelona in a two-legged playoff tie.

The Old Trafford side went toe-to-toe against the La Liga table-toppers. After getting a draw at Camp Nou, we beat the Blaugrana 2-1 at home to set up a match with Betis.
