Victor Osimhen focusing on Napoli amidst interest from Manchester United
Napoli star Victor Osimhen is focusing on the Serie A giants amidst interest from Manchester United, with the Red Devils targeting a striker next summer.
The Nigeria international has been linked with a move to the Old Trafford side in the upcoming transfer window. Apart from the 24-year-old, the Manchester-based club also have Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane on their radar.
Erik ten Hag has also been impressed by Goncalo Ramos of SL Benfica. The Dutch manager also feels Mohammed Kudus is capable of thriving in the Premier League.

Speaking to Corriere della Sera (h/t Manchester Evening News), Osimhen admitted that he aspires to play in the English top flight. However, for now, the striker has his sights set on succeeding at Napoli.
“I think it is an ambition of all players. And who knows, one day. Right now, I assure you, it doesn’t even cross my mind. It would distract me from a beautiful season. [I’m thinking of] Only Napoli.”
The Nigeria international joined the Partenopei in the summer of 2020. Over the years, the 24-year-old has taken time to settle in at the Italian outfit.
However, in the current campaign, the forward has thrived. He has made 25 appearances in all competitions, scoring 21 goals and providing four assists.
At the moment, Erik ten Hag has Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst at his disposal for the number nine position. The France international has struggled with injuries this season, while the Holland international is on loan at the club until the end of the campaign.
Marcus Rashford has had to shoulder the burden of the Old Trafford side’s attack this term. The 25-year-old has been the only reliable outlet in front of goal for the Dutch manager in Manchester.

Therefore, we evidently need to add an out-and-out goalscorer up front. Hopefully, Osimhen will sign for the Red Devils in the foreseeable future. It would not be wise to go into next season with Rashford the only proven goal-scoring threat in the squad.
