Sevilla ‘interested’ in Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek
Spanish giants Sevilla are ‘interested’ in signing Manchester United and the Netherlands midfielder Donny van de Beek, according to Fichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The La Liga outfit are eyeing a move for the Holland international in the upcoming transfer window. Apart from the 25-year-old, the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium side are also looking at Alex Telle and Victor Lindelof.
The left-back is already on loan at Sevilla, having joined from the Red Devils in the summer of 2022. As for the Sweden international, he has been a bit-part player at the Old Trafford side this season.
A number of fringe players are expected to leave the Manchester-based club in the upcoming transfer window. However, it remains to be seen how many stars we will part ways with.
Van de Beek made his way to United in the summer of 2020 from Ajax. However, since then, the Holland international has been unable to establish himself at the Old Trafford side.
In January last year, after failing to get a lot of minutes, the 25-year-old opted to move to Everton on loan. However, injuries hampered the midfielder’s time in Merseyside.
Erik ten Hag has previously worked with Van de Beek in the Eredivisie. However, fitness issues have hampered the Holland international’s opportunities under the Dutch manager in Manchester.
At the start of 2023, the 25-year-old picked up a knock against Bournemouth in the Premier League. Unfortunately, the midfielder was ruled out for the rest of the campaign. In the current campaign, he has made just 10 appearances in all competitions, starting just two games in the Premier League.
