Erik ten Hag eyeing ‘significant signings’ at Manchester United next summer
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is eyeing at least two ‘significant signings’ in the upcoming summer transfer window to bolster his squad, according to Manchester Evening News.
The Red Devils have decided to prioritise a striker next summer. Apart from that, the Dutch manager is looking to add and is pushing for reinforcements in the middle of the park.
In the current campaign, Harry Maguire has lost his place in the starting lineup. Therefore, it would not come as a surprise if the England international decided to leave the Old Trafford side.
As a result, if our captain were to leave, the Manchester-based club could also recruit a centre-back. At the moment, Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are the gaffer’s preferred duo in defence.
However, in order to buy new players, selling some from the existing crop is necessary to comply with UEFA’s financial sustainability laws. Therefore, United have planned for more outgoings than incomings.
At the moment, the Red Devils have several number nines on their radar. The Old Trafford side are interested in Victor Osimhen and admire Harry Kane. Ten Hag is also impressed with Goncalo Ramos and Mohammed Kudus.
Next summer, money recouped from player sales will be used to get a midfielder. To that end, the Dutch manager is open to pursuing Frenkie de Jong and Jude Bellingham.
Most of United’s incoming from the summer of 2022 have done relatively well. The likes of Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro have brought much-needed quality to the team.

However, we could evidently still improve in certain departments. Marcus Rashford has had to be relied upon up front while the engine room seemingly lacks depth. However, it remains to be seen whether the Old Trafford side will splash the cash in the coming months to give Ten Hag what he wants.
