Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong to cost Manchester United at least £30 million
Manchester United will have to pay at least £30 million to prise Jeremie Frimpong away from Bayer Leverkusen in the upcoming transfer window, according to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the Holland international. Currently, the 22-year-old is tied down to the Bay Arena side until the summer of 2025. However, he could make an exit in the coming months.
While the Bundesliga outfit will demand £50 million for the full-back, negotiations could bring his price tag down considerably. But it remains to be seen whether the Old Trafford side will be able to strike a deal with the Black and Reds.
In January, Erik ten Hag was tipped to add a new right-back to his ranks at United. However, Aaron Wan-Bissaka made his way into the Dutch manager’s plans after putting in some decent performances.
However, the former Crystal Palace star could still potentially move away. Therefore, in that case, the Red Devils will likely need to reinforce the right-hand side of the defence.
Frimpong started out at Manchester City’s academy before moving to Celtic. Subsequently, after a few good months in Scotland, Leverkusen snapped the youngster up in January 2021.
Since then, the 22-year-old has been one of the first names on the team sheet at the Bay Arena side. In the current campaign, the Holland international has made 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and providing seven assists.
In the current campaign, Diogo Dalot has been Ten Hag’s preferred option in the starting lineup. As a result, Wan-Bissaka has found game time hard to come by on a regular basis.

Thus, it would not come as a surprise if the 25-year-old decided to leave the club. Frimpong has shown great potential at Leverkusen. However, will United make a move for the 22-year-old? Only time will tell.
