Erik ten Hag ‘plotting’ double Manchester United swoop for Yassine Bounou and Castello Lukeba
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is plotting a double swoop for Sevilla shot-stopper Yassine Bounou and Olympique Lyon centre-back Castello Lukeba, according to Teamtalk (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Morocco international will look to leave the La Liga outfit in the upcoming transfer window to play Champions League football. On the other hand, the 20-year-old defender has impressed many this season.
Bounou joined the Andalusian club in the summer of 2019 from Girona. Over the years, the 31-year-old has developed into one of the best shot-stoppers in Spain.

However, in the current campaign, Jorge Sampaoli’s team are struggling in La Liga. They are currently 12th in the league table, 14 points off the top four. But the Moroccan showed glimpses of his talent at the 2022 World Cup as the Atlas Lions reached the semi-finals.
Lukeba has made his way through the youth ranks at Les Gones. In the previous campaign, the France U21 international established himself in the Ligue 1 outfit’s senior side.
However, the 20-year-old has been a key player for the Groupama Stadium side this season. The centre-back has made 22 appearances in all competitions for them, scoring one goal.

At the moment, David de Gea is the number one at United. The Spaniard has been one of our best players since the previous campaign. However, the 32-year-old is backed up by Tom Heaton and Jack Butland.
As for the Red Devils’ backline, Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane have been the gaffer’s preferred options. However, as a result, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have lost their prominence in the starting lineup.
