Real Madrid ‘tracking’ Manchester United target and Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic
Spanish giants Real Madrid are ‘tracking’ Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic, who has been a long-target for Manchester United, according to ESPN (h/t Express).
Los Blancos are looking to prise the Serbia international away from the Bianconeri. The La Liga outfit are keen to add more firepower up front, with depth deemed ‘essential’. However, Carlo Ancelotti’s team could have to spend £90 million to get a hold of the 23-year-old.
Apart from the Red Devils, Vlahovic is also a target for Arsenal. The Gunners tried to sign the striker in January 2022. However, he instead opted to move to Turin.
At Juventus, the Serbian has not had the best of spells after impressing at Fiorentina. The Old Lady have struggled this season under Massimiliano Allegri. They were knocked out of the group stages of the Champions League.
The 23-year-old has also run hot and cold for the Bianconeri. In the current campaign, he has made 19 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A giants, scoring nine goals and providing three assists.
Madrid currently have Karim Benzema leading their line. The 35-year-old won the Ballon d’Or last year after some inspiring displays in the UCL as Los Blancos went on to lift the prestigious trophies.
However, the Spanish giants seemingly lack options in the number nine position. They can count on Vinicius Junior on the left and Rodrygo on the right. But when Benzema is unavailable, the only natural option is Mariano Diaz, who is evidently not up to the La Liga outfit’s standards.
Similarly, United only have Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst as the natural strikers in the squad. However, the former AS Monaco star has been injury prone this season. On the other hand, the Holland international is a temporary option until the end of the campaign.
