Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde attracting interest from Manchester United
Manchester United are ‘interested’ in acquiring the services of Real Madrid star Federico Valverde in the upcoming transfer window, according to Spanish publication El Nacional (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are thinking about putting in a bid to get hold of the 24-year-old’s signature next summer. It remains to be seen whether the Old Trafford side will put in a formal bid for the midfielder in the coming months.
In the summer of 2022, the Uruguay international was linked with a move to the Premier League. Premier League rivals Liverpool were looking to sign him.
However, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez never considered parting ways with Valverde. The midfielder has been a key player for the La Liga giants over the years.
The Uruguayan made his way to Madrid in 2016 from Penarol. Subsequently, the 24-year-old spent a season in the Spanish giants’ Castilla team.
Then, Los Blancos sent Valverde on loan to Deportivo La Coruna for the 2017/18 campaign. Since coming back, the midfielder has established himself in the La Liga outfit’s senior side.

Last season, the Uruguayan became a pivotal member of Carlo Ancelotti’s team. He helped Madrid lift the Champions League title with an assist in the final as they beat Liverpool 1-0.
In the current campaign, the 24-year-old has made 32 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish giants. He has found the back of the net nine times and has provided four assists.
United have already dipped their hands into Los Blanco’s ranks recently with the signing of Casemiro. The Brazil international has been a present addition to Erik ten Hag’s squad.

Valverde is an industrious midfielder capable of playing in the box-to-box role. However, will we pair the Uruguayan with his former teammate in the middle of the park in Manchester? It remains to be seen.
