Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong ‘hotly courted’ by Manchester United
Jeremie Frimpong, Bayer Leverkusen star, is being ‘hotly courted’ by Manchester United, with the club looking to add depth to the right-hand side of the defence, according to BILD (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The 22-year-old is being eyed by the Red Devils, who remain keen to acquire his services. At the moment, the Old Trafford side have a good opportunity to sign the Holland international.
United have been looking to get a hold of Frimpong’s signature for some time now. In October last year, he emerged as an option for the Red Devils. The 22-year-old is still on the Manchester-based club’s shortlist.
Currently, Erik ten Hag has Diogo Dalot and Aaroon Wan-Bissaka at his disposal. The Portuguese international has been the Dutch manager’s first-choice right-back in Manchester.
As a result, the former Crystal Palace star has seen his game time at United reduced. Therefore, it remains to be seen where his future lies, with the 25-year-old linked with a move away from the club.
Dalot has gone from strength to strength since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure, while Wan-Bissaka’s fortunes have soured. The former FC Porto star has established himself as a key player for the Red Devils.

Frimpong made his way through the youth ranks at Manchester City before joining Celtic. The Holland international subsequently made his way to Leverkusen in the winter window of 2021.
Since then, the 22-year-old has been a key player for the Black and Reds and has developed into a decent full-back. In the current campaign, the youngster has made 25 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit, scoring five goals and providing three assists.

Frimpong has shown a lot of promise in recent years. He is also familiar with the city of Manchester. The 22-year-old seems like a good option to consider in case Wan-Bissaka looks for pastures new.
