Arsenal to battle Manchester United for the signing of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic
Premier League rivals Arsenal are set to battle Manchester United for the signing of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to Juve News (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are looking to add to their forward ranks with the addition of a number nine. To that end, the Old Trafford side have an eye on Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
Vlahovic has also been linked with a move to United for some time now. However, the Gunners will make an offer for the Serbia international, while the Red Devils are also tracking him at around €70 million.
Mikel Arteta’s team are flying high in the English top flight at the moment. The North London side are on course to lift their first PL title in almost two decades.
Arsenal signed Gabriel Jesus in the summer of 2022 to lead their line. However, the Brazil international has been on the sidelines for some time now. But Eddie Nketiah has admirably deputised in the 25-year-old’s absence.
Vlahovic has run hot and cold for most of his time at Juventus. In the current campaign, the 23-year-old has made 17 appearances in all competitions for the Old Lady, scoring seven goals and providing two assists.
The Serbian moved to the Serie A giants from Fiorentina in the winter window of 2022. He was signed by the Bianconeri after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, who signed for United.
In November, the Portugal international cut short his time at the Old Trafford side. Wout Weghorst has been signed as a short-term replacement to fill the void in the squad the 38-year-old left.
