Chelsea set to rival Manchester United for Napoli ace Victor Osimhen

Chelsea is reportedly preparing to rival Manchester United in the race to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer, according to the Mirror.

The 22-year-old Nigerian forward has been in excellent form for the Italian club this season. He has easily been one of the best strikers in the world. He is very prolific in Serie A and scores a lot of goals for the league leaders.

This has reportedly caught the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United. The striker’s versatility and ability to play across the front line make him a valuable asset for any club, and his speed and power make him a fearsome opponent for defenders.

Chelsea is in need of a new striker. They have had a number of few poor strikers in the recent past. Romelu Lukaku, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Timo Werner have all been hit or miss for most parts.

Manchester United is also in need of a striker. Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit has left a huge gaping hole in the forward line. We have signed Wout Weghorst as a stop-gap and the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have played there as well.

However, in the long run, Man United need a proper number nine. Osimhen could be the chosen one to lead the line at Old Trafford. He does have the raw materials required to be a very good player for Man United.

Osimhen has been a revelation for Napoli this season, and his performances have not gone unnoticed by other clubs. The Italian club will be reluctant to let their star forward leave, but they may be powerless to resist if a big-money offer comes in.

Chelsea and Manchester United will both be hoping to secure the signature of the talented striker this summer, and it promises to be an interesting battle between two of the biggest clubs in England.
