Manchester United will have to pay at least €100 million for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen

Manchester United will have to pay at least €100 million to sign Victor Osimhen in Napoli in the upcoming transfer window, according to ESPN.

The 24-year-old has been identified as a target by several clubs to bolster their forward line. Apart from the Nigeria international, the Red Devils also have Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, Benjamin Sesko and Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.

However, United, alongside Paris Saint-Germain, have Osimhen high on their list of priorities. But the Partenopei will not sell their star striker unless they receive a significant sum for him.

The 24-year-old’s current contract with the Serie A giants has two years left. Therefore, the Naples-based club are evidently in no rush to part ways with the Nigeria international.

Napoli are at the top of the Serie A table at the moment. The Italian outfit are on course to lift their first Scudetto in 33 years this season. The former LOSC Lille forward has been a key player for Simone Inzaghi’s team.

In the current campaign, Osimhen has once again been the Partenopei’s outlet in front of goal. The 24-year-old has found the back of the net 15 times in 20 appearances in all competitions this season.

United signed Wout Weghosrt on loan in January to fill the void left by Cristiano Rnaldo’s departure. The Red Devils signed the Holland international on a short-term deal to be able to pursue a quality forward in the upcoming transfer window.

Anthony Martial is the only other natural striker at Erik ten Hag’s disposal at the moment. Unfortunately, fitness issues have hampered the France international season.

Osimhen seems to fit the profile of player the Old Trafford side should go after. The Nigerian is still young and has showcased his goalscoring talent over the years. Hopefully, the 24-year-old will end up at the Theatre of Dreams soon.
