Manchester United star Jadon Sancho is delighted to be back on the pitch for the Red Devils after his lengthy lay-off in recent months.

The 22-year-old was unavailable for the Old Trafford side for a considerable period. During his absence, the forward was on a curated individual programme as he addressed his physical and mental well-being.

Sancho has had a mixed season. At the start of the campaign, the 22-year-old was pivotal for us under Erik ten Hag. However, over time, the England international lost his consistency and was unable to make an impact.

Subsequently, the forward had also taken a break from social media. However, taking to Twitter, after making an appearance in over three months for United against Nottingham Forest, the youngster is determined to give it his all.

“Wow! Just want to say a massive thank you to everyone for the support I’ve received over the past few weeks especially to the fans. My focus is to give my all to my team and the club, I’m so happy to be back out on the pitch, see you soon.”

In the 2-0 win over the Tricky Trees in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, Sancho replaced Antony at around the hour mark. His introduction was met with cheers from the Old Trafford crowd.

The 22-year-old looked lively and energetic on his return to the team. Ten Hag deployed the England international in the number 10 position during the match rather than on the wings.

Sancho signed for United in the summer of 2021 from Borussia Dortmund. In Germany, the forward has developed into one of the most creative attackers. Unfortunately, he has been unable to replicate that in Manchester.

After an underwhelming debut season for the Red Devils, there was hope for him with the Dutch manager’s arrival. However, the 22-year-old has not been able to take his opportunities.

At the moment, the likes of Antony and Marcus Rashford have cemented their place out wide. Alejandro Garnacho has also become one of the gaffer’s go-to players. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether Sancho can make his way back into Ten Hag’s plans at the Old Trafford side.

United made a massive investment in the 22-year-old. However, at a club of such magnitude, players have to pull their weight. Hopefully, the England international is able to do that in the coming months.
