Barcelona forward Ansu Fati attracting ‘interest’ from Manchester United
Manchester United have expressed their ‘interest’ in Barcelona forward and Spain international Ansu Fati, according to Spanish outlet Sport (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are thinking about making a move for the 20-year-old in the upcoming transfer window. However, the Old Trafford side will wait and see whether the Blaugrana open the door.
As a result, the Old Trafford side will not force a deal for the forward. Therefore, it will be interesting to see whether the youngster will make a move to the Theatre of Dreams in the coming months.
Fati made his way through Barcelona’s famous youth academy, La Masia. The 20-year-old made an immediate impact in the Spanish outfit’s first team, becoming the La Liga giants’ youngest goalscorer at 16 years and 298 days. The record, however, was broken by Pedri a week later.
Initially, the forward showed glimpses of his immense talent at the Camp Nou side. However, injuries have derailed his development over the years.
Under Xavi, Fati has lost his influence at Barcelona. When the youngster has featured, he has been underwhelming for the Blaugrana in recent months. In 30 appearances in all competitions, the Spain international has scored six goals and has provided one assist.
The Spanish outfit have immense talent up front. They signed Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha in the summer of 2022. Xavi can also call upon the likes of Ferran Torres and Ousmane Dembele.
At United, Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst are the only number nines in the team at the moment. However, the Holland international is at the club only until the end of the campaign.

Fati is capable of playing down the middle but has mostly played on the left wing at Barcelona. However, in recent months, the 20-year-old has not shown anything special on the pitch. So while the Spaniard has potential, for now, it would be wise for the Red Devils to just wait and watch.
