Erik ten Hag reveals Jadon Sancho back in Manchester United squad for Nottingham Forest game
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed that Jadon Sancho will be back in the Red Devils’ matchday squad for the game against Nottingham Forest.
The Old Trafford side will welcome the Tricky Trees on Wednesday (1 February) in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. The Manchester-based club won the reverse fixture 3-0.
Speaking ahead of the match via Bongda Plus, the Dutch manager confirmed the former Borussia Dortmund star would be back in the mix after his long absence. Anthony Martial will also return from his injury.
“I think Martial and Sancho will be back on the roster.”
United have been without Sancho for some time now. The last time the 22-year-old featured for the Red Devils was in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea in the Premier League.
Since then, the forward has been missing. He left for the Netherlands to recover from psychological issues. Only recently has the England international been reintegrated into the team.
Sancho has had a rough time in Manchester since his move from BVB. In Germany, the 22-year-old was one of the most creative players for the Bundesliga giants.
However, the 22-year-old has failed to showcase those skills on a consistent basis at the Old Trafford side. In 14 appearances this term, he has found the back of the net three times and has provided one assist. As a result, the forward has lost his place in the team.
The England international started the season in fine form. However, he dipped off after the first few weeks. In the meantime, other forwards like Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho have thrived at United.

Therefore, Sancho will evidently find it difficult to get back into Ten Hag’s plans. Hopefully, the 22-year-old is back to full fitness and can contribute effectively in the second half of the campaign for the Red Devils.
