Manchester United ‘may revive’ interest in RB Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara in the summer of 2023
Manchester United ‘may revive’ their interest in RB Leipzig star Amadou Haidara in the upcoming transfer window, according to The Independent (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils have been linked with the midfielder in the past, but a deal has not materialised. However, there is a clause in the 24-year-old’s contract that allows the Mali international to leave in the summer of 2023.
Recently, Brighton & Hove Albion had a bid rejected for Haidara this month. The Bundesliga outfit are not keen on parting ways with the midfielder in January.
The Seagulls have continued to perform under Roberto De Zerbi. However, will the likes of Moises Caicedo and World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister want to remain at the East Sussex side? Only time will tell.
United’s engine room was reinforced in the previous transfer window with the addition of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen. The Brazil and Danish duo have formed a brilliant partnership in the middle of the park.
However, backing up the two are Fred and Scott McTominay. The Scotland international has hardly featured for the side in recent weeks. Erik ten Hag also has Donny van de Beek in the squad.

Our bench strength leaves a lot to be desired. While Fred and McTominay are industrious, they have been inconsistent over the years.
Haidara has been at Leipzig since the winter window of 2019. The 24-year-old has mostly been a squad player during his time with Die Roten Bullen. In the current campaign, the midfielder has made 22 appearances in all competitions for the German side.
