Dean Jones: Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane is keen to move to Manchester United

According to GiveMeSport (h/t The Express), journalist Dean Jones has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is ready to make the move to Premier League rivals Manchester United.

The 29-year-old has spent the entirety of his career at Tottenham apart from loan spells in the lower leagues during his formative years. Arguably the world’s best number nine, Kane has little to show for his efforts in north London.

The English skipper has 265 goals and 62 assists in 414 appearances across all competitions for Spurs. Of these, 198 have come in the Premier League, just 10 off Wayne Rooney who is Man United’s record goalscorer in the competition.

There is every reason to believe that Kane will usurp Rooney’s position soon and pose a threat to Alan Shearer’s tally of 260 strikes. There are few players who can add bite upfront to Erik ten Hag’s rekindled attack.

The Red Devils currently lack an infallible goalscorer who can make a difference in tough situations. Cristiano Ronaldo’s unceremonious exit coupled with Anthony Martial’s injury issues leave Ten Hag with little choice to choose from.

Kane has just over a year to go before his contract at N-17 expires. The upcoming summer transfer window leaves Daniel Levy with a difficult choice to make. Selling Kane could prove to be the best choice unless the 29-year-old agrees to pen a new deal.

Jones has revealed that Kane fancies a move to Old Trafford. Now that the Red Devils are on the march again, they are an attractive side with enough pull.

“He’s always quite fancied the idea of United because of their status and pedigree and now that they’re on the up, who knows?”

The onus now falls onto the Red Devils to make their move in the summer. He could be the marquee striker we have been trying out for a while.

Moving to Old Trafford makes sense to Kane at multiple levels. Not only can he spearhead a new era of dominance at the Theatre of Dreams but staying in the Premier League also gives him the opportunity to have a go at Shearer’s all-time goals tally.
