Rio Ferdinand hails Manchester United star Luke Shaw for his post-World Cup performances
Speaking to Vibe with Five (h/t Manchester Evening News), Rio Ferdinand has hailed Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw for his performances for the club since the conclusion of the World Cup.
Shaw has been one of the most improved players under Erik ten Hag and has adapted his game to tailor the needs of the Dutchman. Shaw is known to be extremely talented for quite some time now and has now also learnt to play in new positions.
The English defender has been tried as a centre-back by Erik ten Hag and the player is really thriving. He has also been very good in his natural position as a left-back and has shown his quality going forward.

Rio Ferdinand has singled out the talented Man United man for his ‘faultless’ performances since the World Cup. It is a credit to Erik ten Hag for how well the Dutchman has transformed the player since coming here.
Shaw’s talent has been obvious for many years now. However, he has been extremely inconsistent with his performances. Barring one unbelievable season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the rest of his time here has been rather mixed.
Injuries have certainly not helped the English international’s cause either. For long, he was extremely injury prone but that has significantly reduced over the last three seasons. He has adapted his physical state rather brilliantly.
Speaking about the player, here is what Ferdinand had to say about the resurgence of Luke Shaw since the World Cup
“Since he’s come back from the World Cup he’s been absolutely faultless, and he’s been playing centre-back – he’s been brilliant there too.”
A lot of Man United players, not just Shaw have stepped up since the World Cup. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is slowly yet surely regaining his best level and seems to be coming back a better player than he was before. Rashford has been unbelievable too.
