La Liga outfit Valencia have made a ‘fresh move’ to sign Manchester United starlet Facundo Pellistri on loan in the ongoing transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.

While the Spanish side are eyeing the 20-year-old, a move seems to not be on the cards. Erik ten Hag is not keen on letting any player leave the club this month.

The Uruguay international signed for the Red Devils in the summer of 2020 from Penarol. Since then, he has not played much for the Old Trafford side’s senior side.

In the winter window of 2021, Pellistri joined Deportivo Alaves on loan. During his time in La Liga, the youngster was a regular squad player. However, he was unable to break his way into the Spanish side’s first team.

After half a season with Los Blanquiazules, the 20-year-old rejoined them on a temporary move for the 2021/22 campaign. Overall, it was a rather underwhelming spell, with the Uruguayan unable to find the back of the net during his time in La Liga.

Pellistri stayed at United in the summer of 2022. He played a part in the Red Devils’ pre-season fixtures. However, Ten Hag has been reluctant to hand the youngster any competitive minutes.

The 20-year-old finally made his debut for the Old Trafford side in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals against Charlton Athletic. In the 3-0 victory, the Uruguayan replaced Anthony Elanga in the 84th minute and set up Marcus Rashford’s first goal of the game.

Alejandro Garnacho initially had trouble getting minutes in the current campaign. However, after some impressive displays, the Dutch manager has started to put more faith in the 18-year-old.

Similarly, Pellistri showed glimpses of his quality against Charlton. The youngster will be hoping Ten Hag takes notice. However, it remains to be seen whether the gaffer will gradually give the Uruguayan more opportunities as the season goes by.

Valencia are struggling in La Liga at the moment. Considering the 20-year-old’s previous experience in Spain, it would not be wise to send him back to a team not in their best moment.
